With the fresh snow last week there have been a number of avalanche incidents over the past few days. A reminder that care is needed even in the middle of spring.

A female ski tourer has been killed by an avalanche on the Pointe des Audras above Bessans in the Haute-Maurienne. The area has been subject to very high winds from the south and poor weather.

A 52 year old French ski tourer has been killed by an avalanche on the tête de Bossetan (2406 m.) above the ski resort of Samoëns in the Haute-Savoie.
